Health Care - Save Muhlenberg Hospital !

Our congregation has been very active in opposing the closing of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center by Solaris Systems.  This is an issue of social justice, as Solaris is closing a hospital that serves a primarily minority low-income community, while continuing to keep open its other hospital in a higher-income community.

The pictures below were taken at a rally across from Muhlenberg hospital, one of the many rallies and meetings where we have been active.  

Our church has provided strong leadership and support in making public officials aware of the keen need to keep the hospital open, holding Solaris accountable for its actions, including removing resources, and  for exploring initiatives for private citizens or third parites to buy the hospital from Solaris.
