"Offering Sanctuary to All in the Storms of Life"

Jazz Sundays

Jazz Sundays are generally the last Sunday of each month, but you could hear any kind of music on any Sunday.  Music in worship and elsewhere can no longer be categorized in convenient boxes, just as God's people cannot.

Fred Fischer, our music director is a very accomplished jazz pianist.  Fred has strong ties to many other jazz players and vast knowledge of and ability to play many different jazz tunes.  Besides, he has a great baritone voice.

  • On recent Jazz Sundays you could have heard:
    • Brad Terry, probably the world's best jazz whistler and an exceptional clarinet player.
    • A saxophone duet by two of our youth
    • Beatles tunes sung by one our youth who has been signed by a national music label
    • Tobie Baldwin on jazz trombone
    • Mateusz Kolokowski on piano
    • Gene Bloomwell on trumpet
    • Liz Fischer on guitar
    • Michael Green on flueglehorn
    • Robert R. on clarinet
    • a church member on African drum, guitar or sax

At our next Jazz Sunday - tap your feet - snap your fingers - clap your hands - make a joyful noise !
